Das Triest Hotel, (72 rooms) description: The building, called Stadt Triest (city of Trieste) was originally used as the main station and a stable for the horses pulling the stage-coaches between Vienna and Triest. These old cross-vaulted rooms, which give the building a distinctive flair, have been transformed into lounges, suites and meeting rooms. Das Triest is a perfect example for the symbiosis of history and modern design. Our staff are well aware of the fact that today's business travelers highly appreciate premium quality and personal service.
Designed by famous interior architect Sir Terence Conran, Das Triest is a luxury hotel in the centre of Vienna, only 10 minutes from St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
With the opening of the hotel in 1995, Vienna finally had its own hip and modern hotel - a sharp contrast to the city's charming, late 19th-century art nouveau architecture. The former coach station and horse stable on the route from Vienna to Trieste, also known as the “City of Trieste”, was renovated and converted into a unique and contemporary 5-star hotel. The old cross-vaulted rooms, which give the building a distinctive flair, were transformed into lounges, suites and meeting rooms. Das Triest is a perfect example of the symbiosis of history and modern design, offering travellers premium quality and an exceptional, personal service.
